Welcome back to the little Pool Boys home.
Today I will show you how to prepare the pool for assembly, how to prepare the ground, level and sand.
So let's start leveling, eh.
So good morning everyone as you saw yesterday.
I use my little tractor to bring sand here and break it up.
Trying to get it is just a little hasty.
We knew it was going to rain.
Last night.
It rained about an inch and a half, which helped compact the sand better, but I don't have a spirit level, you can take a tripod.
The one I screwed up and I don't have another so I'll show you guys how do I level it up? All I have to do is put a small tube in the middle.
I'll drive him to the ground.
Rinse with the same then got 12ft2 before here.
I drilled a hole in it and used it as a tent peg like yours.
Bet.
There's a tent going through here and I can put it up on this pipe.
Then I leveled my four-legged hand and put one foot on top of the two previous ones and was able to align it.
And then I start going around and putting these two in my hands, right? Level my sand.
So that's the overseas job I'm going to be doing now, I probably shouldn't have been cutting that steak for so long, because when it's time to get that pipe out of there, I'm going to have to dig sand around it and bang it back and forth to loosen it.
So I can take it back but it'll be fine, ugh.
So for the first round, I'm going to make some cake shapes like this one and draw them close up.
The sand is still wet this morning.
But I want it close.
Then when it dries I'll go back and do it again to get a good level, but as you can see I'm just using my level and taking some pieces of cake.
Then do the right thing and lower the level.
Well, you all know that the edges are a bit wet.
It actually rained last night, but I'm leaving it where it is now until it dries.
I know, you can't even see it on camera.
But this side of my yard has a pretty steep slope.
So to get three inches of sand, I want to make sure the back seam at the lowest point is three inches thick.
I have 12 to 14 inches of sand, hehe.
But what will I do after this is over?
I do a final smoothing on it.
I made my ring two feet wider than my pool.
But once I put in the pool, I'm going to put concrete stones in the sand under each leg, I'm going to dig in the sand, but then I have to come back, I have to narrow it down.
But instead of sand I would use some good soil to taper around the pool so when it rains the water runs down and can be used to go around the pool.
Because if you don't put the soil in, it will erode underneath the pool.
But regardless, using a four-foot level to level the pool works well.
I got as close as I could with the tractor and my hands, yesterday with my eyes, I'll do it then I'll do it again, dry it out, maybe level up where we're going to put it? How is our pool? This article has been published for three or four days.
I have three or four good checks.
So I loosened the top with a rake.
Now I'll try to work it out with my levels, one or two more, and see if I can smooth it out a bit, okay? I still have some holes.
I'd better get some sand in the tractor and bring it here with my shovel and spread it in these low places and go around it.
one more time please Guys I think we can make it.
It may be a few more rains before I have a chance to start building the pool.
So if we did, I'd just rake it over again to loosen the top, so when you lay out the pool and pour water into it, it'll settle on top, thanks for watching Hope.
This may help others see you next time.
God bless you for a wonderful day.

Masonry sand is the usual base for aboveground pools. Play sand is too fine, and construction sand has small pebbles, so masonry sand is used, also called concrete sand or brick sand.
What kind of sand do you use for a pool base? ›Mason Sand for Pool Base
Unlike other abrasive and coarse sand types that can puncture the pool liner over time, mason sand is fine, soft, and easy to work with. Because of the manufacturing process and refining, mason sand does not have the debris and other materials that could affect the integrity of your pool liner.
- A natural barrier against moisture such as dew, rain, and snow from getting underneath the pool and washing away parts of the sand bed.
- An added protection against the uneven ground which can cause the pool liner to fill in the holes caused by the excavation process, inducing liner failure.
The best sand to use is play sand, which you can buy at any home center. A typical mixture is 40 percent sand, 40 percent topsoil, and 20 percent compost. The sand provides good drainage, while the compost adds nutrients to the soil to promote grass growth.
What is the best sand to level above ground pool? ›Mason sand, sometimes called mortar sand, can normally be found at any sand/gravel yard or masonry supply yard. It is usually measured in yards. It is very fine and should not contain any rocks or pebbles. This will create a very smooth bottom and is the most popular method to use when installing an above ground pool.
How do you tamp down sand? ›Hand-tamping
Hand-tampers are perhaps the most basic sand-compacting tools, consisting only of a flat metal plate attached to a long handle. Using a hand-tamper to compact sand is as simple as walking atop the surface and pressing down on the sand to compress the grains together.
Do you tamp leveling sand? ›
ANSWER: Yes, hand tamp the sand and use a straight edge (or side of 2 x 4 board), from high end of slope to low end, to make sure you still do not have any low spots.
Can you use a compactor on sand? ›From the word itself, plate compactors are for compacting or compressing your subsurface which can be over pavers, gravel, sand & dirt. Choosing the plate compactor is not only about the type of engine nor the plate area but most especially the type of subfloor to compact.
What kind of sand do you use to level an above ground pool? ›Masonry sand is the usual base for aboveground pools. Play sand is too fine, and construction sand has small pebbles, so masonry sand is used, also called concrete sand or brick sand.
How do you smooth out the bottom of an above ground pool? ›- Drain the pool water until only 1 inch of water remains on the bottom of the pool.
- Climb into the pool and get on your hands and knees. ...
- Pull up on the pool liner until it looks smooth and taut below that particular section of the pool railing.
It's true that concrete sand is an excellent choice for creating a level surface beneath an above-ground pool, but the particle size of the sand may be bigger, resulting in the chance for voids.
